Ski Apache is a
Beginner’s Paradise this Winter! Though this season’s snow has been a bit skimpy, Ski Apache remains New Mexico’s premier destination for first-time and beginning skiers. Ski Apache offers one of the finest lesson programs in the country and skiing mid-week when the crowds are lighter will make you feel like “King (or Queen) of the Mountain"! | February 4th sees the opening of Rodeo Photographs of the 1930’s at the Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso Downs. This is a beautiful exhibit of photographs taken in Montana and New Mexico and one you surely don’t want to miss. The show runs through August 14th and is presented in association with the Smithsonian Institution. Sponsored by Ski Apache and The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino, this is Ruidoso’s annual Ski and Snowboard party. Three bands, plenty of contests to challenge your skills, food vendors, beverages and a great night of fun. Starts at 5:00 PM, when the slopes close, and runs thru 1:00 AM. | The Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts returns with “Leahy” on February 20th at 8:00 PM. Back by popular demand, this Celtic roots band of, believe it or not, nine brothers and sisters hails from Cape Breton, Canada. This talented tribe first performed to standing ovations at the Spencer Theater in the Summer of 2003. The group blends high energy, traditional sounds and a great sense of Celtic humor for a rollicking, crowd pleasing evening of fun.
